WTF! Happened: Above the Law

4

Signed in 1989, Above the Law became a part of Eazy E's Ruthless Records. The Pomona rap group consisted of Cold 187um, KMG the Illustrator, Go Mack, and DJ Total K-Oss. With their heavy gangster rap motif, the group worked closely with N.W.A whom were also featured on Above the Law's first debut album, Livin' Like Hustlers. Their first album expressed their creation of the g-funk style which consisted of multi-layered and melodic synthesizers, slow hypnotic grooves, a deep bass, background female vocals. After Eazy's death, the group signed to Tommy Boy Records in 996 and released their two more albums under the label. In 2012 KMG the illustrator passed and was noted that a full album was finished before his death. No new material has been set out from Above the Law but they will always have a spot in rap history.
