Human Made was founded by iconic Japanese designer NIGO and graphic designer Sk8thing back in 2010. The brand has since become a cult-like favorite and is known for its classic streetwear silhouettes that are inspired by pre-1960s Americana culture. This aesthetic can especially be seen in the latest Spring Summer 2020 delivery.

Previous to starting Human Made, NIGO was known for his streetwear brand A Bathing Ape, also known as BAPE. BAPE started in the early ‘90s and took the streetwear industry by storm, becoming one of the most popular international fashion brands. BAPE has partnered on many notable collaborations with Pepsi, Kanye West, Kid Cudi and more, that has since secured their level of hype. NIGO branched out to start Human Made back in 2010 as he wanted to create pieces that resonated with his personal style. He wanted to make clothes for himself that did not align with the signature style of BAPE. Human Made set out to deliver streetwear styles influenced by his extreme interest in classic early ‘60s American style.

The latest Human Made delivery can be described as breezy, lightweight layering pieces that feature linen pants and cotton shirts. The collection uses their classic motifs with their duck and heart emblems found throughout the line. The collection is mostly comprised of earth-toned colors from tan, brown, khaki green and offer similar colors on a mix of T-shirts, button-ups, pants, bags and other accessories. Aside from earth tone apparel, catchy phrases such as “Curry Up” can be seen on a mix of pieces with colorful illustrations of their signature duck logo.
