‘LABORATORY OF FUN’

Virgil Abloh’s influence within the fashion industry has become monumental as Off-White has continuously produced relevant and groundbreaking styles since its inception. Abloh’s sense of fashion began at a young age but started to grow as he got in touch with none other than Kanye West. After graduating from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a master’s degree in architecture, Abloh would head to Rome in 2009 and become an intern for Fendi alongside Kanye. Together, the duo created a new vibe for Fendi which lead to curating his particular style that we know today. After the internship finished, he would move forward in his career as Kanye West would officially name Abloh as the Creative Director at Donda. The now solidified designer and creative would direct art shows, album developments, and put forth his first label titled Pyrex Vision.

With a short lifespan, Pyrex Vision met its demise in 2013 but Virgil kept himself busy and introduced Off-White to the public. Based in Milan, Virgil’s Off-White platform was a combination of luxury streetwear, art, music, and travel. He described the brand as a ‘grey area’ between black and white, hence the name. Since its inception, Off-White has trailblazed fashion trends and has curated a loyal following. Celebrities including Bella Hadid, Lebron James, and Billie Eilish can be seen supporting the brand. Most recently, the Off-White ℅ Virgil Abloh Fall/Winter 2021 collection made its debut which featured a more tailored approach. Titled ‘Laboratory of Fun,’ the collection focuses on redefining ready-to-wear pieces for a more luxurious finish. Familiar branding and imagery make their appearance as they highlight new palettes inspired by renowned creative, Dieter Rams.

Known for shining a light on famous artists, Off-White focuses on Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio with the latest arrivals. The Caravaggio Painting S/S  Slim Tee is a classic statement piece that is detailed with tape yellow accents. Made for a slim fit, the tee is well constructed with cotton and intricate stitching. Screen-printed graphics make an appearance on the front and rear for a complete look. In addition to graphic tees, similar premium finishes are found on their latest hoodie delivery. The Caravaggio Painting graphic also makes its way onto an Over Hoodie but the most prominent design showcased this season would be the Rubber Arrow Slim Hoodie. The very familiar arrow and diagonal motif are given a subtle change as premium printing finishes are emphasized for a textural experience. Raised slightly against the cotton base, the hoodie features a monochromatic finish that allows the imagery to pop.

To complete your next outfit, Off-White also launches new styles of signature accessories and footwear. New colorways of the Low Vulcanized Calf Leather sneaker pair perfectly with either the Striped Socks or Diag Outline Mid Length Socks. The OW Logo Nylon Crossbody is a must-have this season as it includes a neutral olive tone and the iconic industrial belt. Ideal for casual events or sophisticated settings, Off-White has you covered with the latest Fall/Winter delivery.
