Puma Clyde OG 'Parisian Night' Release March 11th

Puma dives deep into its archive with the upcoming release of the Puma Clyde OG. Releasing this Saturday, March 11th, keep reading for a brief history of the Puma Clyde + how to enter the draw.

Designed with the assistance of basketball icon Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier, the Puma Clyde was the first-ever signature sneaker for an athlete. Its legacy dates back to 1971. When Clyde first signed with Puma, he made a total of three initial demands. He first wanted the first flat basketball sneaker. Then he wanted a signature ‘Clyde’ on each shoe. Lastly, he wanted a new color variation for every NBA game he plays. Puma met these demands, resulting in over 390 colors used on every pair of Puma Clydes the NBA All-Star wore. Puma’s Clyde made an impression on the world of basketball sneakers but also became an integral part of subcultures nationwide—getting embraced by dancers, skateboarders, and more. Since its first debut in 1973, the Puma Clyde has only made a comeback in 2018, and once again now, with the release of the Puma Clyde OG ‘Parisian Night.’

Taking on the aesthetics of fashion, culture, and basketball, this confident sneaker features a full suede upper. The suede tongue is treated with a woven Puma label, while the leather hits in this shoe are made from environmentally responsible manufacturing processes. Gold foiled and debossed Puma Clyde branding can be found at the quarter, while the rubber outsole underneath supports the remainder of this vintage sneaker.
