Stemming back to 1774 with Johann Adam Birkenstock, the footwear brand is dedicated to crafting well-produced and high-quality footbeds for all types of silhouettes. Johann Adam was dedicated to this craft and passion, even passing it down to each of their family’s proceeding generations. Over a hundred years later, Johann’s great-great-grandson Konrad Birkenstock picked up the family trade and quickly envisioned a world where his products would be made available to the public. This vision eventually came to fruition officially in 1896.

For hundreds of years, the Birkenstock footwear brand has gained massive worldwide recognition in addition to a substantial following. Birkenstock’s goal is to focus on making footwear that ensures optimal comfort. This goal first began with Konrad Birkenstock creating an initial blueprint of taking a mold of a relaxed foot in the sand. This mold was then implemented into the brand’s signature cork-latex footbed, a material seen throughout Birkenstocks. The label’s best-sellers include the Arizona, Boston Clog, Kyoto, and more. Each of these designs takes on an EVA outsole as well, which contributes to the overall durability and traction. This EVA outsole helps support arch support and optimal foot circulation. Various materials are seen throughout Birkenstock shoes, such as suede, shearling, Birko-Flor, nubuck, and Birkibuc. 

The Birkenstock Narrow Arizona Soft Footbed makes an impression in any footwear collection, as it utilizes genuine nubuck leather at the upper. The two straps are treated with two individual adjustable branded buckles for added functionality. A signature cork-latex footbed is placed, while the suede lining adds additional comfort to the silhouette. Made for a narrow fit, the design’s signature EVA outsole finishes the rest of the design. Another stand-out silhouette from Birkenstock is the iconic Birkenstock Wide Boston Shearling. The design spotlights a suede upper along with a shearling lining for added comfort during the cooler months. An EVA outsole is seen for added durability and comfort. The adjustable strap and metal pin buckle finishes the remainder of the premium footwear design.
