Comme Des Garçons Play
Comme Des Garçons Play
First founded in Tokyo, Japan, in 1973 by fashion legend Rei Kawakubo, the Japanese label Comme des Garçons has since branched out into many different lines, with the most notable one being Comme des Garçons PLAY. Otherwise referred to as CDG PLAY, the brand was first introduced in 2002 and delivers elevated and unisex ready-to-wear pieces. While emphasizing unisex apparel, the minimalist line is most recognized for its iconic red heart bug-eyed motif logo designed by Filip Pagowski placed upon various streetwear offerings. The red heart is heavily prevalent within all of the Comme des Garçons PLAY offerings and is considered the face of the line. The label offers a variety of apparel, including crewnecks, hoodies, cardigans, t-shirts, polo shirts, and other knitwear. Comme des Garçons PLAY brings a playful aesthetic to traditional everyday attire. With many iconic collaborations between different celebrities and brands, perhaps the most iconic being the Comme des Garçons PLAY x Converse, which incorporates the signature red heart logo on a classic Chuck Taylor silhouette.
