Caterpillar House by Feldman Architects

4

Placed on the hills of the Santa Lucia Preserve in California is The Caterpillar House designed by the Feldman Architects. The unique curvature of the home responds to the site's alignment, it also helps to regulate temperatures between day and night. The home acts as an irrigation system capturing all rainfall and distributing it to the nearby plant life that surrounds the home. The interior decor of the home is a mixture between that of a traditional ranch-style home and a contemporary estate. Soft woods and bold shapes are used extensively through out the home while having a few Western-inspired furniture pieces to sustain the classic Americana feel.
