Birkenstock Bostons + Arizonas

Haven Neiman

With nearly 250 years of history backing up the legendary sandal brand, Birkenstock was established by Johann Adam Birkenstock in 1774. The footwear brand is dedicated to crafting well-produced and high-quality footbeds. Johann Adam passed down this dedication to the craft to each proceeding family generation. Over a hundred years later, Johann’s great-great-grandson Konrad Birkenstock picked up the family trade and envisioned a world where his products would be sold worldwide. This eventually came to fruition officially in 1896.

The Birkenstock brand has gained massive worldwide recognition for hundreds of years and a substantial following. Birkenstock aims to make footwear that ensures optimal comfort. This initiative started when Konrad Birkenstock created an initial blueprint of a mold of a relaxed foot in the sand. This mold was then implemented into the brand’s signature cork-latex footbed, a material often seen throughout Birkenstocks. Some of the best-sellers from the Birkenstock brand include the Arizona, Boston Clog, Kyoto, and more. These designs are also treated with a signature EVA outsole, therefore providing optimal durability and traction with each step. This outsole helps with arch support and foot circulation. The brand continues to inroduce new variations of classic Birkenstock sandals, which have featured materials such as suede, shearling, Birko-Flor, nubuck, and Birkibuc.

"TRADITION SINCE 1774."

With that, Birkenstock introduces its latest new arrivals of the Boston silhouette. The Birkenstock Wide Boston makes an impression in any footwear rotation with its premium suede upper and suede footbed lining. The design also spotlights an anatomically-shaped cork-latex footbed that forms to the foot with time, resulting in a unique fit. The individually-adjustable pin buckle at the strap features a textile aesthetic and color-coordinated details. The EVA outsole underneath offers durability and traction, making them ideal for everyday wear. Additionally, the Birkenstock Wide Boston Soft Footbed is another must-have Boston silhouette. Taking on an oiled nubuck leather upper, the design features a soft cork-latex footbed that forms to the foot. The suede lining adds further comfort, while the adjustable metal pin buckle and EVA sole wrap up the remainder of the design.

In addition to the Boston, Birkenstock also introduces new iterations of the iconic Arizona silhouette. Taking on a textile upper, the Birkenstock Women’s Narrow Arizona Vegan makes an impression with its cork-latex footbed that forms to the foot. The microfiber lining adds further comfort to the look, while the adjustable metal pin buckles and EVA outsole provide a functional finish to the sandal.
