Stussy has developed a historic background as it has set out a platform for urban fashion-labels to succeed upon. Stussy has been able to develop a long-lasting and dedicated following as people enjoy its signature styles and designs. Introduced to the world during the late 80s, Stussy was quickly consumed by Southern California’s surf community as they loved the casual yet edgy approach to clothing. Shawn Stussy, founder, and the creator had a passion for surfing and initially created the brand to sell and shape surfboards. Stussy would finish each board with his signature- the penmanship is so unique that it helped grow his brand into what it is today. We now see this signature within the clothing and is forever correlated with the brand.  

The younger generation championed the clothing and as they grew up, the brand evolved with them. Even with age, the brand was applicable to all styles as it continued to stay with the trends while sticking to its roots. Stussy has collaborated with many brands and companies and has created exclusive designs that speak to its core DNA. Some of the notable collaborations include A Tribe Called Quest, Dior, Marc Jacobs, Nike, and Supreme. 

Within the latest collection, we are reminded of the signature styles and branding that helped develop the fashion label. We see familiar graphics including the club and 8 ball motifs printed upon hoodies and graphic tees. The brand wanted to revert to what they know best but provide cozy essentials and laid-back designs. Within the mix of casual styles, we are also introduced to formal cuts and layering essentials. The Sherpa Zip Hoodie comes in either a black or brown colorway providing a neutral tone to its exaggerated design. Made for comfort the jacket is an ideal layering piece as it utilizes polyester sherpa and a full-length zipper for security. Another layering addition within the collection is the Classic Zip Up Plaid Longsleeve. This is a truly unique piece as it utilizes traditional plaid colorways but is tailored for a sophisticated cut. The pressed collar and chest pocket reminisce elegant wardrobe pieces but the full-length zipper contributes a more casual finish. Its premium construction is a perfect addition as it would sit comfortably above a ready-to-wear tee. 

In addition to the outerwear, the collection also includes a variety of shorts that are ready for warmer weather and accessories to match. A selection of hats sport the iconic namesake upon its base; this can be seen within the Stock Low Pro Cap, Stock Cuff Beanie, and Big Logo Twill Bucket Hat. The various headwear introduces quality fabrication and embroidered motifs that represent the brand. Apart from clothing, the delivery also includes the Ceramic Dice Ashtray. The ashtray is made with ceramic clay and is finished with a gloss overlay that highlights Stussy’s classic dice. Its delicate and sophisticated design can be used for its purpose or provide a modern touch to an interior. Many have been dedicated to the label and with each collection put forth, the latest delivery is highly anticipated as it can be applied to anyone’s style.
