‘Wash Orange’

Kanye West’s entrepreneurial and unconventional path to the iconic and revolutionary Yeezy sneaker line began in 2009 when the first Yeezy sneaker was released with Nike. After releasing a few models of the Air Yeezy, West transitioned over to the Adidas brand in 2015 when he was offered a more hands-on position which included more creative freedom. This transition further snowballed the Yeezy sneaker hype. Considered a vital part of streetwear culture, West is a trailblazer and redefines the definition of sneaker. West and the creative team at Yeezy are known for creating innovative and influential sneaker silhouettes, such as the Yeezy Boost 700.

The Yeezy Boost 700 was first introduced in the summer of 2017 and was met with initial distaste by high-profile members of the sneakerhead community. While it started on an opposing foot, this shoe model began what is now known as the ‘Dad Shoe Trend,’ which countless brands have used as inspiration. The heavily criticized sneaker began to move towards a positive light as celebrities were seen wearing it, such as Chance the Rapper when he hosted Saturday Night Live that same year. The Yeezy Boost 700 modernized the classic dad-shoe aesthetic. The most notable model of this sneaker was the ‘Waverunner.’ Its bright lime laces and teal toe box along with orange accents gave the silhouette a subtle hint of brightness, which contrasted with previous Yeezy sneakers that led up to the Yeezy Boost 700 ‘Waverunner.’ This sneaker model is highly distinguishable from its predecessors, as its mix of mesh and suede and chunky midsole caught the eyes of the masses.

The latest Yeezy Boost 700 addition includes the ‘Wash Orange’ colorway. Similar to the ‘Sun’ and ‘Enflame Amber’ models, the signature orange sole remains intact. The signature mesh and suede upper features Slate Grey and teal and black hues, which wrap around the toe box area. 3M motifs are placed at the ankles, as well as the orange and black rubber outsole. The ‘Dad Shoe’ aesthetic is proudly displayed in this vibrant colorway. Signature Three Stripe branding and the classic reflective heel are offered, while the full-length drop-in boost midsole allows for optimal comfort and stability.
