WTF! Happened: The Pharcyde

4

South Central natives, Imani, Slimkid3, Bootie Brown and Fatlip joined forces to create The Pharcyde. The alternative hip hop collective are best known for their hit singles, "Drop", "Passin' Me By" and "Runnin'". In 1992, they released their first album, Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde which certified gold by the MIAA. From 1997-1999, the group became inactive in the music game but reunited in 2000 without Fatlip with their full studio album, Plain Rap. Later that year, Slimkid3 left the group to pursue his own journey as a solo artist. With two remaining members left, Bootie Brown and Imani tried to keep the legacy going by releasing another album Humboldt Beginnings which didn't seem to attract much attention. From 2007-2009 the group reunited to perform at several hip hop concerts such as Rock the Bells and the Rhymesayer Memorial Day Concert.
