Jordan Brand continues its ‘Reimagined’ series with the latest Jordan 1 High in the classic Royal Blue colorway. The Air Jordan 1 High OG, often simply referred to as the ‘Air Jordan 1,’ is a classic and iconic basketball shoe that has had a significant impact on both the sneaker industry and pop culture. The Air Jordan 1 was first introduced by Nike in 1985. It was designed for and endorsed by Michael Jordan, who is considered to be one of the greatest basketball players of all time. The shoe was created by Peter Moore, who drew inspiration from traditional high-top basketball shoes. It also incorporated a mix of leather and synthetic materials for durability and support. The design was groundbreaking and set the tone for future sneakers. The Air Jordan 1 remains one of the most beloved and enduring silhouettes in sneaker history. It has become a symbol of authenticity, style, and sports heritage.

The Air Jordan Reimagined Series

As a way to appease both the new generation of sneakerheads looking to secure a piece of history and allow OG collectors to differentiate releases from their older pairs, Jordan Brand introduced the ‘Reimagined’ series which takes classic colorways and adds a unique twist to their build. The Air Jordan Reimagined series features a range of updated Air Jordan models. These designs include unique and creative modifications to the original silhouettes to offer fresh and fashion-forward takes on classic sneakers. Unlike a standard Retro, a ‘Reimagined’ version aims to closely duplicate the original shape while playing with new materials like patent leather, suede, and leather in order to retell a different story of the silhouette.

The first official Reimagined shoe started with the Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Chicago' Reimagined AKA 'Lost and Found' Drawing inspiration from the original 1985 colorway, the brand attempted to recreate the sneaker as if it was the original after some years of wear and tear, from replicating the aged ankle collar with a crackle leather to the yellow-tinted midsole. Jordan Brand wanted to create a sneaker that came with a history tied back to something many consumers may not even be aware of.

The second issue of the Reimagined series revisited the iconic Air Jordan 3 ‘White Cement’ colorway. This release retains the timeless combination of white, black, and red while introducing modern design elements that give the shoe a contemporary edge. With its original ‘Nike Air’ branding, the shoe also featured new details such as an aged box, off-white details on the heel tab, a midsole that was already pre-aged, and a pamphlet with OG tech specs as the 1988 version had. With its blend of heritage and innovation, the ‘White Cement’ Reimagined pays homage to the past while ensuring it remains a standout in today's sneaker culture.

The Air Jordan 1 High OG ‘Royal Reimagined’

The latest installment from the Jordan Reimagined series is the Air Jordan 1 ‘Royal Reimagined.’ This colorway of the AJ1 is one of the most iconic and sought-after releases from Jordan Brand. This color scheme is characterized by a combination of deep blue and black leather with white accents. The Air Jordan 1 in Royal Blue has had multiple iterations since its original release in 1985, but this release stands out due to its bold departure regarding materials used. Instead of its signature all-leather upper, the shoe is constructed in an all-suede look with a vibrant royal blue and black hue. The shoe is also packaged in a matching box instead of the traditional black and red AJ1 packaging. Innovative design elements and details add a fresh, stylish dimension to the iconic silhouette, paying homage to its heritage while embracing the future. The ‘Royal Reimagined’ captures the essence of the original while making a bold statement in the world of sneaker culture.
