Carhartt was brought onto the scene over 130 years ago in Detroit, Michigan by Hamilton Carhartt. With its original name being ‘Hamilton Carhartt & Company,’ the label initially began with crafting bib overalls for the Detroit-based railroad workers. Carhartt always prioritizes durability and high quality when it comes to their products, with this mantra eventually translating to the brand’s original 1889 slogan: “Honest value for an honest dollar.” Carhartt eventually extended its Midwestern roots and expanded into other states, and even across the ocean in France, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Once the ‘70s rolled around, Carhartt transitioned from crafting solely bib overalls to other uniforms and essential apparel for United States service members.

Designer Edwin Faeh can be credited with spreading Carhartt into Europe. His store ‘All American Concept’ received Carhartt, and its big impression paired with Faeh noticing its considerable potential resulted in him establishing the sub-label Carhartt WIP. What is the difference between Carhartt and Carhartt WIP? Carhartt WIP was a more modern and casual approach that wasn’t made just for blue-collar workers, but for those of all types of careers and styles. Carhartt WIP quickly expanded into the United States. Its contemporary aesthetic often incorporates signature tailoring that meets the brand’s notable expectations of delivering high-quality, durability, and comfort to each of its offerings. New shades of the brand’s signature apparel styles have arrived, in addition to new styles. The Carhartt WIP Happy Script S/S T-Shirt is one of these new additions. Cut from organic cotton, the silhouette is made for a comfortable loose fit. A slightly ribbed neckline is placed for added detail. Screen-printed branding is seen at the left portion of the chest along with a printed graffiti-like smiley face. Paired seamlessly with the top is the Carhartt WIP Sid Pant. Cut from a premium blend of cotton and polyester, the silhouette is made for a low waist and slim fit. Side and rear pockets are seen for added functionality. The COOLMAX fabric allows for added comfort, while the bartack stitching at vital stress points adds further security.

The silhouette is crafted from premium cotton and polyester, offering a comfortable experience. Made for a loose and boxier fit, ribbed detailing at the neckline, cuffs, and hem provide further details. A seasonal screen-printed graphic at the chest finishes the rest of the look.
