For Cyrus and James Clark, footwear has always been held in high regard. When starting their company Clarks, little did they know how far their work could go. With over 200 years of history, one of their most notable and long-lasting silhouettes is the Original Wallabee Boot. This model brings together casual and elegant fashion into one shoe and has been a fan-favorite ever since its inception. The Wallabee can transition into any outfit as it’s incredibly comfortable and stylish. 

10 years after the traditional crepe sole was developed, the moccasin inspired shoe was launched in the 1960s. The project took some time as it needed to be perfected and up to Clark’s standards. They wanted to pay homage to the moccasin but also wanted to provide a timeless and captivating shoe. From the get-go, the shoe was very popular but what truly built its notoriety was hip-hop sensation the Wu-Tang Clan. In 1993, the music group released their debut album ‘Enter the 36’ where each member wore a pair of Clarks’ Original Wallabees. This expanded the shoe’s market, reaching people in different societies that now want their hands on a pair of Wallabees. As time went on, the popularity just kept growing and was seen on other music sensations including Kanye West and Drake. As it was gaining traction, Britain also had their fascination with the boot; famous music artists like DOOM, The Verve, and Oasis also sported the model. Since then, Clarks Original Wallabees have curated a loyal following that is still prevalent to this day.  

In Clarks’ SS21 collection, the footwear brand showcases a variety of bold prints and colors amongst their famed boot. The use of premium materials including suede, leather, and woven knit are highlighted throughout. The Wallabee Boot in Multicolor displays a high quality woven upper with highlights of white leather lining, emphasizing its meticulous craftsmanship. The collection also includes the Red and Black Patent design, featuring a tumbled leather design giving the boot a unique finish. All models sport their famous crepe sole that provides airy cushioning and optimal comfort throughout times of wear.
