First making its debut in 1985 by legendary sneaker designer Peter Moore, the Air Jordan 1 has established itself as a timeless and go-to sneaker for any rotation. The design is a symbol of authenticity and youth counter-culture, and this distinction began when the then-rookie Michael Jordan stepped onto the NBA court sporting a pair of Air Jordan 1s. Having been fined $5,000 for violating the uniform policy, Jordan made an impression with that decision. Its iconic shape has been treated with countless colorways and iterations over the years, with its ‘Bred’ colorway being the first initial color treatment. Additional iconic colorways of the Air Jordan 1 include ‘Chicago,’ ‘Shadow,’ ‘Royal,’ and ‘Mocha.’

The Air Jordan 1 is receiving its latest colorway: ‘Starfish.’ Arriving in a full family sizing range, this treatment is inspired by the 1985 uniform that Michael Jordan wore during an exhibition tour in Italy, where his iconic dunk occurred. The design spotlights Italian couture with Michael Jordan’s slick style. A blend of semi-matte faux leather and embossed leather make up the upper. The gauge stitching adds a further dimension, while the perforated toe box offers a breathable touch. Nike branding makes an impression on the nylon tongue, while the Jordan Wings branding is printed at the ankle. The aged midsole contrasts with the remainder of the silhouette, while the rubber outsole underneath supports the remainder of the design.
