Founded in 1978 by Australian-native Brian Smith, UGG is inspired by the relaxed California culture infused with his Australian roots by his love of sheepskin. The UGG brand soon became a staple all over the West Coast, growing into an international powerhouse in the mid-2000s. The UGG brand has since transformed from its stylish casual line into a premium casual fashion label with its new and innovative silhouettes outside the traditional UGG boot.
Introducing a new theme every month for the year 2020, UGG has launched its limited-edition CA805 sneaker drops with the UGG 12 x 12 collection inspired by art, nature and more. The CA805 12 x 12 collection is named after the California area code, home of UGG. Channeling a mix of style and function that characterizes UGG’s homeland, the CA805 features premium materials and combines layered fashion uppers with the all-day cushioning of a Treadlite by UGG outsole. Each shoe tells a unique story and each drop is exclusive to a small number of retailers worldwide.
For UGG’s latest 12 x 12 collection drop, they have partnered with Japanese graphic designer and artist, Tadanori Yokoo. The UGG x Tadanori Yokoo capsule channels the revolutionary energy of the 1960s with colorful, psychedelic-style prints honoring the iconic works of Yokoo Self-Portrait and Wonderland II. The capsule features four colorful sneakers with several apparel pieces, each unique in design.
The apparel capsule includes a t-shirt, hoodie and shorts with designs from Yokoo with a blue base accented with multiple-colors. The four sets of sneakers include two silhouettes, UGG x 12x12 CA805 x Tadanori Yokoo Wonderland in blue, purple + red and UGG x 12x12 CA805 x Tadanori Yokoo Self Portrait in red.
