Nike Air Max 90 + Air Force 1 ‘Valentine’s Day’ Release February 13th

Nike Air Max 90 + Air Force 1 ‘Valentine’s Day’ Release February 13th

Chelsie Rendon

Right before Valentine’s Day, Nike is set to release exclusive designs paying tribute to the holiday of love. The beloved Air Max 90 and Air Force 1 ‘07 silhouettes share the same color palette which includes Tulip Pink and University Red. Nike isn’t a stranger to Valentine inspired sneakers as they have previously celebrated with a rendition of the SB Dunk Low Pro in 2014 and the Air Max 95 in 2004. Their ongoing portfolio grows as they add these shoes to their 2021 lineup.

The Air Force 1’s revert to its original design with subtle changes that elevate its composition. Mainly known for its triple-white colorway, the Air Force 1 gained instant popularity upon its 1982 debut. Since then the sneaker has seen many renditions making the shoe grow even more in popularity. Its white leather construction is highlighted with pink and red hues. Overlays of suede make their way around the shoe breaking the leather upper. Traditional details which include perforated holes on the toe box take a heart shape - emphasizing the love aesthetic even more. Embroidered and stitched emblems are seen throughout championing the University Red colorway. The tongue tag takes the cake with exclusive branding combining Valentines and Nike. One of the shoes reads ‘True Love Since ‘82’ which is hidden under the snap closure. The sneaker comes complete with a white and pink rubber outer sole that protects the inner Air unit, providing comfort with each step.

Ever since the Air Max 90 was introduced to the general public in the ‘Infrared’ colorway, sneaker enthusiasts have been dedicated to the silhouette. Thus, the dedication to the model and its throwback vibe creates a frenzy whenever a new version arrives in the market. Similar to its Air Force counterpart, the Air Max 90 takes on similar cues with its pink and red palette and exclusive tongue branding. Its upper is constructed with leather that corresponds with the iconic Swoosh stitched along the side panels. Suede detailing encompass the shoe utilizing the Tulip Pink gradient. Within its lace enclosure, we see heart-shaped holes decorating the eyelets, adding to its sweetheart composition. Its exposed Air bubble is shown within the rubber outsole, a common trademark within the 90s model. The snap closure branding stitched on the tongue, hides the secret messaging made just for this shoe. The sayings include, ‘ME+AM90=TRUE LOVE’ while the other side states ‘AM90 4EVER.’ Both silhouettes will be available on February 13th, right before the holiday. Grab a pair to add to your shoe collection or surprise someone with a gift that will always be remembered.
