After shifting into a career in fashion that began with styling athletes, Jerry Lorenzo quickly realized that the premium apparel he wanted his clients to wear wasn’t available in the industry. He recognized the same when it came to his wardrobe, which was the start of what we now know as Fear of God. This luxury streetwear label has garnered the likes of millions across the globe, along with celebrities such as the late Virgil Abloh, Kanye West, and Michele Alessandro. Officially launched in 2013 and often referred to as a streetwear or contemporary brand, the label’s intent is to create classic designs that elevate the softness of sportswear with the complex intensity of expert tailoring. 

At the height of Fear of God, Jerry Lorenzo decided to make his clothing more accessible to the public and blend the energy of streetwear and contemporary aesthetics. Fear of God Essentials was officially launched in 2018. The line mixes and matches Fear of God’s mainline garments and delivers high-end yet simplistic basics. Each offering draws inspiration from Lorenzo’s original designs and concepts while playing with a different blend of textures and layers. These ready-to-wear silhouettes such as tees, hoodies, crewnecks, sweaters, cardigans, and more apply to any wardrobe, as they utilize muted color palettes and straightforward branding.

Fear of God Essentials introduces its latest women’s delivery for the spring/summer 2022 season. This fresh collection consists of various apparel such as hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, shorts, and outerwear like cardigans, coats, and more. Adopting three new colors: Iron, Seafoam, and Wheat, these styles can be worn all year round. Unique graphical flair has also been introduced, along with contemporary velour silhouettes.

One of the stand-out items featured in the Fear of God Essentials Women’s delivery is the 3/4 Sleeve Mockneck. This premium design is composed entirely of cotton terry, making it soft to the touch and elevated in its aesthetic. Made for a relaxed fit, the silhouette spotlights rib-knit detailing at the mock neck, cuffs, and hem. Behind the neckline is a rubberized ESSENTIALS label. Additionally, the Fear of God Essentials Women’s Boy Scout Shirt takes a laid-back streetwear approach. Inspired by the ‘60s, the premium silhouette is composed of a blend of cotton and spandex. Made for a traditional fit, the design incorporates a rubberized label at the rear, while the full front button placket adds additional detailing. The rib-knit detailing makes an appearance at the neckline, while the scalloped hem finishes the rest of the aesthetic.

The Fear of God Essentials Women’s Tee is another item featured in this new delivery. Composed of a premium cotton jersey, the silhouette is cut to a classic boxy fit. The design embodies ‘80s aesthetics, as its flocked graphics at the chest make a distinct statement. The rib-knit neckline paired with the stitched rubberized label at the rear completes the rest of the look. Consider the new Fear of God Essentials Women’s Relaxed Trouser to pair with the tee. This premium silhouette is composed of a blend of cotton and spandex for optimal comfort and stretch. At the elastic waistband is silicone branding, while the design itself is treated with a single front pleat for additional detail. The side seam pockets and back welt pockets add optimal functionality. Made for a relaxed fit, this silhouette makes an elevated statement within any apparel collection.
