In celebration of the grand opening of our fourth FEATURE retail store in Scottsdale, Arizona, we have joined with Converse to spotlight four local Scottsdale creators who embody Converse’s passion for expression. Keep reading to learn more about our fourth and final creator, PERTY (@pertinence_).

The Phoenix-based songwriter and rapper got into music in high school, right when Soundcloud was taking off. “It made me turn around and think, you know, maybe I could take a shot at this. Maybe I wouldn’t be half bad,” says PERTY. “I think sonically, I would describe my music as just me having fun with it." PERTY’s music tells an interpersonal relationship with himself and as he continues to evolve as an artist.

“I remember getting into Converse initially because every pair of shoes that I would get would wear out within two weeks. I didn’t want that anymore,” he says. “It wasn’t until I put on my first pair of Converse for the first time that I experienced a much more durable shoe. It was something that grew with me, and as they got worn down, looked even cooler.”
