Corporate x Jordan Air Ship ‘Light Menta’ Release September 15

Jordan Brand and Cincinnati based sneaker company Corporate connect to release the newest iteration of the Air Jordan Air Ship, this time in ‘Light Menta.’ Corporate prides themselves on playing an active role in the community. Beyond their sneaker shop, they run a non-profit organization called Bigger Than Sneakers. The organization provides a platform for youth communities to gain leadership and entrepreneurial experience, specifically regarding sneaker culture. This collaboration with Jordan Brand, which transcends mere retail, embodies community spirit while delivering a stylish, versatile sneaker.

The Nike Air Ship is an integral part of the Jordan Brand’s genesis. Released in 1984, this silhouette was the first one that Michael Jordan wore as an NBA professional since the Air Jordan 1 was not ready yet. The sneaker was designed low to the ground, so the player could feel the court beneath their feet. Nike supplied Jordan with a limited number of Air Ships that year leading to the release of the Air Jordan 1, sparking Jordan Brand's success. The Air Ship silhouette is a classic style that has undergone many iterations since its original release, the latest one in this collaboration with Corporate.

The ‘Light Menta’ colorway is given a teal suede upper paired up with matching leather overlays on the vamp, Swooshes + ankle collars. Contrast comes by way of the white accents on the laces and the Swoosh outline. Additional embroidered details include Corporate branding along the lateral side, the shop's 'Got 'Em' slogan on the heel + ‘For the City’ on the inner lining. A gray rubber outsole and perforated toe box finishes the rest of the design. The sneaker is housed in a custom box and will come with a story card that tells Corporate owner Matt Tomamichel’s story of perseverance and commitment to his community.
