All manufactured in Japan, reworked vintage apparel label Needles was founded by Keiso Shimizu in 1997 in Tokyo, Japan. By providing unique and casual styles with a vintage aesthetic, the label incorporates two sub-labels within its entity: Needles Sportswear and Rebuild by Needles, which is Its most prominent label. Rebuild by Needles reworks vintage apparel by sewing them into new one-of-a-kind offerings. Needles was initially launched to project Shimizu’s vision and trace back to his experience visiting and introducing products worldwide. Needles’ embodies the concept of clothes being mass-produced and left without purpose, which becomes rebuilt. By using Japanese textiles to design and create a rand of eccentric yet uniquely American styles and sub-labels, the apparel is stitched together to create entirely new pieces that make a statement.

The latest Spring/Summer 22 delivery from Needles combines workwear, military, and classic ‘70s-inspiration within a selection of apparel, accessories, headwear, and footwear. Even spotlighting a collaboration with Brooklyn-based workwear apparel label SMITH’S, the delivery includes their signature track pants along with their ever-present butterfly motif transferred to a vast array of items. The ever-popular Needles Flannel Shirts reappear from Rebuild by Needles and introduce the 7 Cuts L/S Tee that embodies a collegiate approach.

The iconic Ribbon Flannel Shirt from Rebuild by Needles continues its legacy. Crafted entirely from cotton, this distinct design elevates the traditional flannel, as this silhouette is cut from seven different shirts, resulting in its unique aesthetic—the shirt’s intricate paneling of flannels upgrades any everyday apparel collection, both breathable and comfortable. Also included within the silhouette is a front button closure with barrel cuffs and a chest pocket at the front for functionality. The uneven hem ties together the look.
