Motorcycle enthusiast Shinsuke Takizawa established Neighborhood in 1994 as a Japanese-inspired apparel label. Often referred to as NBHD, Neighborhood is heavily influenced by Western Japanese aesthetics, biker gang culture, and London’s punk scenes. Takizawa noted the current climate of the fashion industry and its lack of offered streetwear apparel. Neighborhood’s mission is to ‘Craft with Pride,’ and takes on inspiration from motorcycle, punk, and military cultures.
