After retiring as a professional athlete, former three-world duathlon champion and ironman winner Olivier Bernhard became devoted to creating a running shoe that would give the perfect running sensation and change the world of running. Shortly after the beginning of this endeavor, Bernhard crossed paths with a like-minded Swiss engineer who had an idea for a new kind of running shoe. A combination of Bernhard’s running experience and optimal engineering expertise allowed the picture to be refined, therefore resulting in what is now known as the ON running sneaker brand. The ON brand was formally established in Zürich, Switzerland, in 2010.

Since its origin, the ON sneaker brand’s basic concept started off with implementing a cushioned landing, a firm take-off, and a unique running sensation. The goal of ON was to create silhouettes that were comparable to running on a cloud. ON’s CloudTec technology is engineered to benefit everybody’s running experience. As proven by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, its highly flexible sole reduces muscle fatigue and lowers heart rates. The multi-directional cushioning system actives during intense landings as well as reacts to specific and unique movements. ON sneakers compress horizontally for a soft landing, making this unique running sensation focus on the overall cushioning experience, not correction. The Cloudswift sneaker is ideal for challenging terrains or urban city running. Its lightweight and durable in its construction and made to combat external forces. Its sustainable mesh upper features a reinforcing cage placed at the forefoot for optimal security. The CloudTec technology blended with Helion Superfoam elevates its cushioning and minimizes the heel strike. Speedboard technology is also recognized throughout the midsole, which emphasizes a natural rolling sensation with each step.
