Nike Dunk Low SP 'Veneer' Release 11/10

Nike Dunk Low SP 'Veneer' Release 11/10

Ernie Salvatera

The Nike Dunk is having a strong showing this year as the historic model continues to make waves in contemporary fashion and sneaker culture. Originally a sportswear model in 1985, the silhouette has seen a strong revival with its support and collaborations from the likes of Travis Scott, Medicom Toy Company, and Off-White to name a few. The Nike Dunk, low or high, is on the radars of everyone.

With Nike SB (skateboarding) taking the spotlight with some of the brand’s fabled colorways resurging, this specific model comes from Nike’s CO.JP (Concept Japan) line which has origins with Japanese-exclusive products and releases. Make no mistake, the CO.JP line is synonymous with some of Nike’s most iconic dunks, the Pro B line most-notably. The Veneer is ready to make waves in a new decade.

This time around, Nike releases the Dunk Low SP "Veneer", a colorway that originally debuted in 2001 with Nike’s CO.JP line. The Veneer joined iconic colorways like the “Plum” and “Ceramic” as part of Nike’s Pro-B “Ugly Duckling” pack. Each individual colorway is iconic on its own, however.

Adorned with a premium suede upper, the shoe’s “ugly” look comes from a palette of deep purple and autumn green. There’s also the yellow ankle lining that unifies the assortment of tones. Thicker laces are also included this time around, a notable remnant from the Pro-B line and the “Veneer’s” original construction. The highly-anticipated retro is ready to join the “Plum” colorway as another resurrected component of the original “Ugly Duckling” pack.
