The latest joint effort between Nike and the Japanese fashion label, UNDERCOVER introduces a new silhouette that combines modern designs with original Blue Ribbon aesthetics. The Overbreak sneaker is a unique silhouette as it showcases Nike’s newest sole cushioning and signature designs from the recent collection from Undercover. Designer and founder, Jun Takahashi introduced the sneakers as a part of his Spring/Summer 2021 collection. The shoes tie in the aesthetic commonly seen within the apparel and accessories. The long last relationship between Nike and Undercover has unraveled with unique and exclusive designs that are highly anticipated as many of those who support Takahashi can’t wait to champion his latest designs. The silhouette will include two different colorways while supporting the same designs. We will be introduced to the Black + Metallic Silver colorway and Overcast + Black version - though they sound similar they both have individual color details that make them stand out against each other. 

Its unique construction makes it highly desirable as it provides comfort but also a modern style at the same time. The Overbreak is composed of a textile upper which provides security and quality within the shoe. Overlays of rubber and suede decorate the sneaker. Within its construction, we see that Takahashi plays with different textures and dimensions providing a shoe that’s one of a kind. Within the eyelets, raised rubber gives a unique twist on its composition. Embroidered detailing including the rose motif and UNDERCOVER’s signature branding is placed along the shoe while the words ‘CHAOS’ and ‘BALANCE’ decorate the toe box. Those words are particularly chosen as they reflect the concepts explored within Takahashi’s collections. 

But what really makes the silhouette stand out is its React Sole that was created and introduced by Nike. The footwear label is constantly pushing the limits and continuously improving the experience for all of those who wear shoes. The eccentric design consists of cushioning that provides a pillow-like sensation during times of wear. Along with its comfort capabilities, the cushion is also highly responsive as it absorbs the pressure and utilizes it to your advantage - providing pep within your step. This contributes to a long-lasting wear time that is comforting and high quality. 

Many of those who come from different markets but all have the passion for sneakers and unique fashion are all highly anticipating its release. Even if you aren’t well versed in one of the brands, the unique construction, and natural colorways are building anticipation within communities.
