BAPE Spring/Summer ‘23
Haven Neiman
BAPE, or A Bathing Ape, started in 1993 under the guidance of Nigo and SK8THING, the brand’s founders. It began as an underground-like Japanese streetwear label that, for a while, was one of fashion’s best-kept secrets. The brand became one of the most globally-recognized OG lifestyle brands as time passed. The brand was established in the heart of Japan in Harajuku, and it quickly became a cultural tastemaker among Japanese streetwear enthusiasts.
BAPE has been on the map for a while now, but it has become iconic for its use of legendary motifs seen throughout the brand’s offerings, such as the iconic ape head, camo shark, and, more recently, the baby milo. BAPE’s apparel often includes silhouettes like graphic t-shirts, sweatshorts, hoodies, crewnecks, sweaters, sweatpants, and full-zip hoodies. The brand has even begun introducing lifestyle and home goods offerings like pillows, rugs, and mugs. Additionally, BAPE is revered for its iconic BAPESTA sneaker, which we are excited to share is available now, with the rest of the new BAPE arrivals, at FEATURE, exclusively at the Scottsdale Quarter.
BAPE’s Spring/Summer ‘23 collection introduces a new delivery filled with apparel, footwear, accessories, home goods, and more. One stand-out silhouette is the A Bathing Ape Color Camo Shark Reversible Shorts. Composed entirely of polyester, the shorts feature a drawstring waistband paired with side pockets and a reversible aesthetic. The all-over camo print and screen-printed shark graphics at the rear complete the design.
The A Bathing Ape ABC Camo Tee also makes an impression with its everyday yet elevated aesthetic. The silhouette features a cotton construction in addition to a crew neckline. Screen-printed logo branding and graphics comprise the front, rear, and sleeves, including a camo ape head graphic aesthetic. Besides apparel, BAPE’s footwear delivery includes the imitable BAPESTA sneaker. This low-top sneaker begins with a leather upper and patent leather details that can be found at the lace-up closure, BAPESTA ‘STA’ star logo, and lining. The perforated toe box is breathable, while the rubber outsole underneath supports the sneaker.
