Feature'd Architecture: 'El Maqui House' by GITC Architects
Kevin Sanchez
Chilean practice, GITC Architectura builds 'El Maqui' residence on the eastern hillside of a rural coastal mountain range in Chile. The architects sought out a site that was dry and contained no vegetation to avoid destroying any landscape in the construction of the project. The house consists of two conceptual elements: two glass-formed bases separated across the property and a timber volume that acts more as a linear bridge spanning the two volumes on the site.
