German-based athleisure label Puma was first introduced in the ‘40s by Rudolf Dassler. Primarily recognized by its iconic Formstrip and ‘pouncing’ puma motif, Puma has grown into one of the most recognizable and iconic sportswear brands in the fashion industry. In addition to its selection of technologically-advanced athletic sneakers and lifestyle footwear, Puma has expanded into sportswear and elevated athleisure apparel such as hoodies, leggings, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and more. Alongside its premium offerings, in recent years, Puma has also become well-versed in collaborations, having collaborated with renowned designers and brands such as Dua Lipa, TMC, Liberty, and AMI.

With that, Puma introduces its second collaborative collection with luxury Parisian fashion house AMI. Translating to ‘friend’ in French, AMI takes inspiration from how happiness starts with the people you surround yourself with. The label’s name references its founder, Alexandre Mattiussi. The label continuously pushes the boundaries between casual and chic ever since its establishment in 2011. 

The second collaboration between AMI and Puma takes on the concept of exploring new horizons along with elevating outdoor essentials. The collection features apparel, headwear, and footwear, all of which blend outdoor design elements with extreme tailoring detailing. Inspired by a thirst for freedom and exploring new horizons, the capsule mixes Puma’s sportswear heritage with premium craftsmanship from AMI. This delivery is rich in volume and elevation, perfectly blending a playful and vivid palette with neutral hues placed on a selection of apparel, headwear, and footwear.

All of these offerings spotlight the Puma x AMI logo, which includes AMI’s signature AMI de Coeur symbol merged with the pouncing ‘Puma’ motif. Ideal for the cooler weather, the Puma x AMI Beanie is a must-have from this second capsule. Composed of polyester, acrylic, and wool, the beanie is elevated yet comfortable in its design. The silhouette includes a pom pom at the top, while the entire design includes rib-knit detailing. A single fold is placed, while embroidered branding is placed at the front of the single fold. Another must-have silhouette from the design is the Puma x AMI Half-Zip Sweatshirt. Cut from a blend of cotton, the sweatshirt spotlights a half-zip closure leading to a mock neck. Drawcords are seen at the neckline, while the chenille patchwork comprises the left portion of the chest. Ribbed detailing is seen at the cuffs and hem for a finished aesthetic.

As for footwear, the collaboration interprets the Suede Vintage into a new iteration. A suede upper is placed, while the leather Formstrips at the side offer a dimensional touch. A heel loop tab is seen at the heel for easy on and off. Perforated detailing is subtly placed at the side panels. Woven tongue branding is spotlighted additionally. Additional collaborative branding makes an impression at the heel, while the vulcanized midsole connects to a rubber outsole for a finished aesthetic.
