Collaborating once again, ‘Prince of Reggaeton’ J Balvin joins Jordan Brand to release the latest iteration of the Air Jordan 3 Retro in the new colorway ‘Medellin Sunset.’ As the first Latino artist to work with Nike Air Jordan, J Balvin made history for the company. Nike and the rapper have worked together on numerous occasions. He initially collaborated with the Jordan company in 2020, creating the Air Jordan 1 sneakers. The team collaborated again in 2022 with the release of the Air Jordan 2. 

The Air Jordan 3 was created in 1988, during a time of transition between the retro and the modern, as seen in its design elements with its exposed air bubble design showcasing the Nike Air Unit, self-lacing system, and chunkier silhouette. They were the first Jordans to feature the Jumpman logo on the tongue, which has now become an icon in pop culture, making them extremely significant in Jordan history. 

Eager to design yet another iconic silhouette, J Balvin x Air Jordan introduces the latest colorway of the Air Jordan 3 in ‘Medellin Sunset.’ Drawing inspiration from the awe-inspiring sunsets of Medellin, Colombia, J Balvin's hometown, this special-edition Air Jordan 3 showcases an ivory leather upper with matching forefoot and heel elephant print overlays. The rear midsole and molded back tab feature a captivating gradient blend of yellow, orange, and dark purple, with the left shoe displaying Nike branding and the right featuring J Balvin's iconic smiley face symbol. The tongue is adorned with an embroidered gold Jumpman logo. Completing the design is a translucent rubber outsole with a blue tint, providing a stylish foundation for the sneaker.
