In honor of Feature's 5.5 Year Anniversary party, this week's Artist Spotlight showcases D.C. emcee Oddisee. Born Amir Mohamed, the artist grew up in Maryland, influenced by soul and rap as well as myriad musicians on both sides of his family. After being introduced to hip-hop production, he changed his plans of attending art college concentrated on making beats, ending up with the track "Musik Lounge" on DJ Jazzy Jeff's 2002 record Magnificent. Oddisee released his solo debut Foot in the Door, in 2006. In 2015 Oddisee released The Good Fight, an effort driven by social commentary and retro soul.
