Air Jordan 1 Low ‘Bleached Coral’ Release July 2nd

Air Jordan 1 Low

‘Bleached Coral’

Considered to be the one that started it all, the Air Jordan 1 was introduced to the public in 1985 toward the end of Michael Jordan’s rookie year with the Chicago Bulls (although the basketball player was sporting a pair of Air Ships, that highly resembled similar design elements to the Air Jordan 1, which wasn’t quite ready for public release). Created by Peter Moore, this timeless design redefined basketball sneaker styles and was the start of footwear brands collaborating with high-profile athletes. Michael Jordan’s decision to wear a pair of 1s captured the imagination of fans worldwide, as colorful athletic sneakers at the time were primarily reserved for runners. Additionally, his wearing the sneakers broke the league’s rules at the time, which contributed to even more hype around Air Jordans.

Debuted alongside the Air Jordan 1 High, the Air Jordan 1 Low was the first-ever low-top signature sneaker developed by Nike for the legendary Michael Jordan. The Air Jordan 1 Low was designed by the iconic sneaker designer Peter Moore, and the silhouette takes inspiration from the Nike Dunk, all while incorporating the Nike Swoosh and Jordan Wings Logo. While also including Nike Air cushioning, the sneaker was originally released in several colorways that mirrored its High’ counterparts' release, such as several Chicago Bulls-inspired and metallic-like colorways.

With that, the Jordan Brand introduces the latest addition to the Air Jordan 1 Low legacy. Introduced in grade school and U.S. men’s sizing, the Air Jordan 1 Low ‘Bleached Coral’ is a must-have sneaker for any Jordan collection. The design spotlights a cracked leather upper with hits of suede accenting seen at the heel and toe box. Nike branding comes in the form of the woven tongue label and side Swooshes. A Jordan Wings logo is stamped at the heel. Perforated detailing seen at the toe box offers a breathable component to the silhouette, while the Air Cushioning at the midsole provides optimal comfort. The rubber outsole protects the design for a durable finish.
