Former Brand Director of Supreme, Angelo Baque, grew up in Richmond Hill, Queens. He always had a strong interest in fashion and photography. The young creative would take the one-hour subway ride to Soho, New York, from New Jersey to take in the ambiance of the eclectic downtown scenery of New York City. Before becoming the Brand Dictor at Supreme, Angelo Baque’s fashion experience was fast. He had interned with The Source Magazine in 1997 and then with the famed designer/long-time Nike collaborator Jeff Staple at Fader Magazine. Angelo Baque established his label, Awake NY, in 2012.

Best known for blending the traditional boundaries of high-end streetwear with cultural references, Awake NY consistently offers loud designs, vibrant colors, and clever imagery on a selection of must-have apparel, headwear, accessories, and more. Its signature flowing script motif and New York City references are common throughout its offerings. 

Spring 2023 has spring-appropriate pieces, bold branding, and bright colors. The collection combines spring inspiration with New York City inspiration. The Awake NY Wavy Jacquard Mohair Cardigan is a great layering piece featured in the Spring 2023 collection. Taking on a mohair blend, the silhouette features a jacquard wavy graphic design throughout the exterior. A half-button closure secures the design, while the rib-knit detailing at the cuffs and hem offers a dimensional touch. Another must-have piece from the Spring 2023 collection is the Awake NY x Mundo Dip Dyed Camp Shirt. Made in collaboration with artist Tercer Mundo, this dip-dyed silhouette is cut entirely from cotton and incorporates a spread collar. The button closure secures the look, while the chest pocket offers added functionality. The all-over dip-dyed aesthetic and wavy graphics wrap up the look.

One stand-out graphic apparel item in the Spring 2023 collection is the Awake NY Floral Printed Tee. Composed entirely of cotton, the design utilizes a crew neckline for added dimension. Screen-printed logo branding at the front and rear makes a statement as well. Additional screen-printed floral graphics on the front and back round out the remainder of the design.
