Hoka One One’s running shoe legacy began when two trial runners, Jean-Luc Diard and Nicole Mermoud, noticed that their running hobby wasn’t good for their legs. They took this realization and decided that the running shoe market needed a new type of shoe, specifically one that provided momentum and cushioning all while improving the endurance race time of runners. The two French Alp residents quickly got to work on making these shoes for themselves, and word quickly got out, and others wanted the same.
Hoka’s intention with each pair of Hoka shoes is that they inspired people to move along by touching upon concepts of innovation and frankly stepping outside the box. In addition to Hoka running shoes, the footwear brand also offers a variety of other footwear silhouettes such as the slides, trail running shoes, and hiking boots. Available in men’s and women’s sizing, Hoka shoes are well-known for their oversized midsole and outsole that take on a problem-solving approach to al activity. Wearing a pair of Hokas is a feeling like no other, as their maximum cushioning and meticulously-engineered midsole provide a soft, smooth, and efficient ride while utilizing technology such as Meta-Rocker Geometry, Carbon Fiber Plates, J-Frames, and Profly technology. Hoka One One’s most well-known silhouettes include the Hoka Bondi 7, Hoka One One Clifton 8, and more.
“Time to Fly.”
One of the best Hoka running shoes is the iconic Hoka Clifton 8. Featuring an engineered mesh upper, this premium design has recently received an array of new colorways to choose from. The design spotlights a comfortable EVA foam midsole along with a gusseted tongue for added comfort. The extended pull tab allows for easy on and off, while the early-stage Meta-Rocker geometry complements the natural gait cycle by reducing the height difference between the heel and toe. High-abrasion rubber at the outsole protects the design's durability. Additionally, the Hoka One One Ora Luxe is another premium footwear silhouette that is great for everyday wear. Making its debut with optimal relief and comfort in mind, its lighter tread can be accredited to its sugarcane EVA midsole. An adjustable Ariaprene strap is placed, while the injection-molded foam outsole wraps up the design.
