Considered to be one of the most iconic heritage footwear brands in the world, New Balance was founded in Boston in 1906 by William J. Riley. Originally setting out to produce products for arch and overall orthopedic support, New Balance adjusted its focus in the ‘60s to begin creating athletic footwear. The heritage footwear label is primarily recognized by its iconic ‘N’ logo that is still featured in today’s New Balance silhouettes. New Balance is also known for its highly sought-after Made In USA and Made in UK collections that proudly display classic retro sneaker silhouettes like the 57/40, 550, 990v5, 327, and more.

New Balance maintains its stake as a legendary footwear brand by introducing new iterations of iconic silhouettes along with introducing new designs that are simple yet refined in their aesthetic. The heritage footwear label first introduced its 9060 silhouettes with legendary collaborator Joe Freshgoods in his ‘Inside Voices’ collection this spring. Designed by James Lee and Yue Wu, the silhouette is inspired by retrofuturism in its entirety. The sneaker pushes the brand’s premium lifestyle line in a new direction, as it embodies a familiar and unexpected notion simultaneously. The New Balance 9060 is inspired by the iconic 990 series and the high-speed 2000s running shoes such as the 860v2. By amplifying key areas of New Balance’s history, the 9060 speaks to New Balance fans and future generations.

The New Balance 9060 is introduced in a non-collaborative colorway, ‘Sea Salt.’ Deviating from streamlined designs, this dramatic sneaker features a neutral mesh upper paired with smooth suede overlays for added detailing. Within the silhouette are optimal comfort, which can be accredited to the signature ABZORB cushioning and inner padding. Designed to mimic a bed comforter, the chunky rubber outsole provides further drama and durable components. Branding is placed at the tongue label and in a bold manner at the side, completing the overall sneaker.
