Making its name in the ‘80s thanks to its founder, Shawn Stussy, the Stüssy brand’s creative flair has helped it grow into one of the most iconic streetwear labels to exist in the world. The brand has become a true trailblazer within the streetwear world. And as for Nike, this powerhouse brand was established in the ‘60s by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight. The sportswear and lifestyle brand has paved the way for future brands, having reached massive heights within the fashion industry, partially due to its collaborations with brands like Stüssy.

Stüssy and Nike first joined forces in 2000 when Stüssy UK’s Michael Koppelman approached Fraser Cooke, a Nike employee, regarding a possible ‘special edition version’ of their favorite Nike sneaker, the Nike Air Huarache. Since then, Stüssy and Nike have joined forces on multiple occasions o introduce a variety of collaborative silhouettes, like the SB Dunk, Air Max 95, Blazer Low/Mid, Air Force 1, and more. The latest Nike x Stüssy collaboration introduces the first-ever collaborative take on the iconic Nike Vandal High silhouette.

Initially released as a basketball shoe in 1984, the Stüssy-take on the Nike Vandal High looks to the golden era of Nike’s basketball history while showcasing the brand’s laidback design ethos and attention to detail. Taking it as an opportunity to refresh a forgotten classic of Nike’s repertoire, the sneaker is known for its signature hook and loop ankle strap. This version takes on a hemp upper as well as an embroidered Swoosh. The Stüssy 8-Ball tongue tab graphic brings a signature touch to the look. The extra hook and loop ankle strap and two extra-colored laces offer further dimension to the sneaker. The faux leather heel tab with embossed Nike branding and the rubber outsole and nylon tongue with exposed foam detailing complete the look.
