Jordan Brand continues to release exclusive sneakers that revive previous sought-after colorways by providing a fresh take with premium construction and fabrication. To coincide with their sneaker revivals, the footwear powerhouse will be unveiling an updated version of the Air Jordan 5 ‘Stealth.’ Originally released in 2006, the new model sees premium construction and lively finishes for a more contemporary and quality look. Since the creation of the Air Jordan 5, we’ve seen the model in varying patterns and palettes due to its unique build and retro aesthetic. Created by famed sneaker designer, Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan 5 draws inspiration from fighter jets during World War II. These fighter jets would be decorated with shark motifs and the familiar teeth pattern makes its way upon the rubber outsole within the 5. 

During its release in 1990, Michael Jordan was making historic strides within the NBA and his personal career. With this in mind, Hatfield wanted to create a shoe that matched his success. The AJ5 would be the first silhouette to introduce a transparent sole that showcases Nike’s Air technology along with the lock lacing attribute for a secure fit. Its retro design has surpassed fashion trends and is still a prominent model within the brand’s line-up. Some of the most popular colorways include the bright yellow hues of the ‘Tokyo’ introduced in 2011 and the ‘Grape’ as seen on Will Smith during his time on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. With a collection of significant models, the brand continues to produce hype releases of the Air Jordan 5. 

The most recent drop re-introduces the silhouette in the colorway ‘Stealth’ which also includes Hyper Royal,  White, and Black hues within its scheme. Similar to the original, the newly released version will contain its full-fledged reflective tongue and royal blue branding accents. Subtle paint splatter details the shark-tooth print which sits beside the transparent Air bubble window. The 5’s signature mesh side panels match the premium leather upper for an overall fresh look. Its knitted cotton laces are secured with the sneaker’s lock-lacing design for utmost security. This particular sneaker is extremely sought-after as it sees a clean yet vibrant colorway. Many will line-up at sneaker boutiques in hopes to obtain a pair.
