The Japanese fashion label known as AMBUSH is well known for its unique artistry amongst its jewelry collections. Designed by Yoon and Verbal, the duo provides a modern and contemporary touch to traditional jewelry pieces. Meeting at Boston University, the couple began designing in 2002 where artists like Kanye West supported the brand by wearing their first collection. In 2008 they debuted their second collection, making them even more successful in solidifying their name within the streetwear industry. 

We’ve seen the label team up with multiple brands and create exclusive designs that are incredibly sought-after by fashion aficionados. The most recent collaboration is with the powerhouse footwear brand, Nike. The first collaboration was launched on December 11th, highlighting the Dunk High in a ‘Black’ colorway. With the sneaker, the label also released clothing with Nike focusing on NBA teams which include the LA Lakers and Brooklyn Nets. This collection has made strides as Yoon is the first female designer to officially partner with the NBA and Nike. Following its December predecessors, AMBUSH and Nike have come together to deliver their latest colorway on the Dunk High model.

Taking on its vibrant color palette, ‘Active Fuchsia,’ the whole sneaker is dipped in the tonal pink tones - a striking contrast compared to its predecessor. The monochromatic style is broken with leather overlays along the upper, but the overall pink aesthetic is delivered from heel to toe. An exaggerated Nike Swoosh is located on the side panels, a common motif we saw within the previous design. Yoon wanted the shoe to have a sense of movement and the oversized logo reminded her of exhaust pipes that hang on the back of Japanese motorcycles. 

Stitched on the tongue is an exclusive co-branded label while the back heel displays a raised AMBUSH logo. The latest model still reverts to traditional characteristics that include a padded tongue, foam cushioning midsole, and perforated holes along the toe box providing breathability with every step. Its colorway is truly striking and can elevate any outfit. Sneaker enthusiasts were enthralled by the previous model thus the ‘Active Fuchsia’ model will also be feverishly sought after.
