Reworked vintage apparel label Needles made its first debut in 1997 by Keiso Shimizu in Tokyo, Japan. The label provides unique and casual styles with a vintage aesthetic, all of which are manufactured in Japan. Two sub-labels are under the ‘Needles’ umbrella, Needles Sportswear and Rebuild by Needles, the most prominent of the two. Rebuild by Needles is best known for reworking vintage apparel by sewing them into one-of-a-kind apparel.

Needles itself was initially launched in order to project Shimizu’s vision by tracing back to his experiences visiting and introducing products worldwide. Needles takes on the concept of clothes being mass-produced and left without purpose, therefore becoming rebuilt. The brand uses Japanese textiles to design and create various eccentric yet uniquely American styles and sub-labels. Each apparel item is stitched together to create an entirely new piece.

With that, Needles makes a statement this season with its new collection: Fall/Winter 2022. Taking on bold retro-inspired prints presented on relaxed silhouettes, the delivery brings us back to the ‘70s entirely. One stand-out item is the Needles Pea Coat Acrylic Fur/Blurred Dot. Cut from acrylic, the silhouette incorporates a cupra lining for added comfort. The design is collarless, including a v-neck front and concealed side pockets. The pile faux fur and purple dots make a bold impression. Paired seamlessly with the coat is the Needles Velour Narrow Track Pant. The pants incorporate a polyester construction that provides a premium touch. The silhouette includes an elastic drawstring waistband in addition to the side zipper pockets as well as rear zipper pockets for a functional touch. Embroidery is seen at the front, while the stripes along the sides of the legs wrap up the remainder of the look.

The Needles Velour R.C. Track Jacket pairs perfectly with its track pants counterpart. Cut from a premium blend of cotton and polyester, the silhouette incorporates ribbed detailing at the trims along with a full-zip closure for added security. Zippered hand pockets add further functionality, while the embroidered branding at the chest offers additional spotlighting. The stripes at the sleeves wrap up the remainder of the design. Alongside the track jacket, Needles is also highly known for its signature flannel shirts. The Rebuild by Needles Flannel Shirt 7 Cuts Zipped Wide Shirt makes a vintage-inspired impression on any wardrobe. Made from cotton flannel shirts, the silhouette’s all-over paneling is connected with zippers. A button-down closure is placed in addition to a signature pointed collar. A chest pocket and adjustable button cuffs wrap up the remainder of the silhouette.
