New Balance has teamed up with Casablanca for the first collaboration on New Balance’s brand-new silhouette, the 327. Casablanca brings its luxury-meets-sport design philosophy to the model, which was inspired by New Balance’s archive of 70’s runners. The Casablanca x New Balance 327 first debuted at Paris Fashion Week and will be available in two colorways, green and orange. 

Casablanca clothing is a luxury fashion line designed and directed by Charaf Tajer, in dedication to the meeting place of his parents. They fell in love at an atelier in the fashion district of Casablanca. A souvenir of a true love story. Casablanca fashion expresses the marriage of Charaf’s two cultures, the unique fusion of French-Moroccan history and explores their visual conversation.

New Balance, founded in 1906 by William J. Riley, is an American sports footwear brand founded in Boston. Riley was a British immigrant and elements of his British roots can be found in its branding today. The brand originally set out to produce products for arch support and orthopedic footwear to provide consumers with more comfort and “new balance.” In 1960, the New Balance switched their focus and started targeting athletic footwear. Their recognizable and iconic “N” logo wasn’t featured on their silhouettes until the 70s. New Balance is known for its highly sought-after Made in the U.S.A and Made in the U.K products and their classic retro runners.

The New Balance x Casablanca 327 pulls inspiration from Casablanca’s founder Charaf Tajer’s French and Moroccan heritage. The colorways pay homage and nostalgia to the Moroccan heritage. The silhouettes feature a vibrant white, orange and green colorways, with one silhouette showcasing orange as the stand out color and the other featuring green as the stand out color. 

The New Balance x Casablanca 327 features perforated leather throughout the upper and an enlarged leather ‘N’ logo done in classic Casablanca colorways. The sculpted sole unit and heel wrap offer a contemporary design element.
