Music Meets Sport

First introduced into the world of fashion in the mid-'90 by Rudolf Dassler, the German-based sportswear and sneaker lifestyle brand Puma has established itself as one of the world’s leaders in crafting elevated athleisure apparel and accessories that make a long-lasting impression. ‘Puma’ means speed, strength, agility, and endurance, hence the brand’s iconic Puma Formstrip that references a ‘pouncing’ Puma. Puma has grown into one of the most recognizable and iconic sportswear brands in the fashion industry, having collaborated with renowned designers and brands to bring sports influences into street culture and fashion.

With that being said, the powerhouse label Puma introduces its sophomore collection with the Australian brand Butter Goods. Inspired by the ‘90s, sports and music collide in this distinct selection of apparel and footwear. Butter Goods’ unorthodox nature of skateboarding and music brings about a notable feeling of nostalgia, as the archive-inspired silhouettes include contemporary fits and strong design language that makes an impression. Nothing compares to the combination of Puma’s sportswear aesthetics with Butter Goods, as its retro and sport-inspired details combined with striking co-branding graphics stand out amongst the traditional apparel offerings.

One of the first apparel items featured in the sophomore collection of the FEATURE x Butter Goods sophomore collection is the Puma x Butter Goods Graphic Tee. Embodying a ‘90s sports aesthetic, the tee is crafted from breathable cotton for optimal comfort. A crew neckline is placed, while screen-printed pixelated rubber graphics reside at the chest. Co-branding from Puma and Butter Goods is intertwined for a distinct statement. The Puma x Butter Goods AOP Shorts are paired perfectly with the graphic tee. The design is crafted entirely from cotton and includes an elastic waistband with internal drawcords for customized comfort. The side pockets and rear pockets add additional functionality. Made for a relaxed fit, the design is treated with all-over knitted jacquard graphics that make a statement. The co-branded patch at the left thigh ties together the overall look.

The Puma x Butter Goods Slipstream Lo is one of the footwear offerings featured in this collaborative capsule. This silhouette’s aesthetic is plucked out straight from the ‘90s with its speckled sole and bright purple and green accents. This signature sneaker makes a notable reapparance in this retro-inspired collection, as its perforated detailing makes its way to the toe box and side panels for a breathable touch and the blend of leather and textile within the upper. The plastic eyelets emphasize the design’s retro aesthetic, while the ever-popular ‘PUMA Anti Shock System’ is debossed within the splattered midsole. Screen-printed Butter Goods branding is placed on the side panel, while Puma branding appears on the tongue. The gum rubber outsole underneath, treated with additional splatter detailing, finishes the look.

The Puma x Butter Goods Polo references skating and sports aesthetics within its pixelated graphic design. Composed of cotton with additional recycled fibers, the silhouette is made for a relaxed fit and is comfortable in its aesthetic. A quarter-zip closure is paired with additional ribbed detailing that can be seen at the cuffs. Straddle vertical stitching resides at the shoulder hems, while the patched co-branded label at the chest makes an additional statement. For that same ‘90s aesthetic, the Puma x Butter Goods Graphic Tee seen in Yellow upgrades any graphics collection while embodying both brands’ distinct aesthetics. Featuring a cotton construction, the silhouette includes a crew neckline paired with screen-printed co-branding at the chest.
