Rei Kawakubo’s Comme des Garcons SHIRT has partnered with Futura on a collaborative capsule collection featuring shirts, jackets and accessories with the artist’s signature bright graffiti motif. 

A pioneer in the world of graffiti, Futura is known for his graffiti art, primarily in the ‘70s, alongside the streets of New York. Often described as when graffiti meets contemporary art, Futura goes down in history as one of the greatest artists of all time and has branched out to collaborate with highly notable brands such as Nike, ReadyMade, Comme des Garcons and more. Futura’s art can be seen in the Pera Museum, Museum of the City of  New York, the Museum of Modern Art in Los Angeles and more. 

Comme des Garcons SHIRT x Futura collaboration made its debut back in January during Paris Fashion Week. The collection showcases Futura’s colorful graffiti artwork, shown in three different prints throughout the collection. Rei Kawakubo reworks these prints through printing, cutouts and other shapes on jackets, button-down shirts, t-shirts and tote bags.
