Following the brand’s first debut collection in 2018, Converse x ROKIT releases a capsule inspired by Downtown LA. Rokit is an LA-based streetwear brand founded in 2016 by Bam Barcena, Ryan “Rionism” Barcena and Nico Guardalabene. The brand marries the worlds of both skateboarding and street basketball into one. This unique concept can be seen throughout their collections and especially in the latest Converse collaboration. 

Converse merges its signature style with ROKIT's youthful basketball and skate culture on the Chuck 70 Hi ($110 USD) with black fabric sewn onto the canvas in different quarter panels. The signature All-Star logo is eclipsed in black fabric and blends figurative textures of asphalt and blacktop - a foundation likened to the streets of downtown Los Angeles, where ROKIT is based. 

"The Chuck 70 is classic yet constantly evolving at the same time," says Bam Barcena, creative director and co-owner of ROKIT. "The idea of it originally being a basketball shoe and now being more of a cultural icon says a lot — and that magic of being able to exist in seemingly different spaces is very much in line with the spirit we capture with ROKIT."

Two other pieces are also available in the capsule. The pullover hoodie ($90 USD)  is made from 100% cotton featuring 3M branding, ribbed edges and a kangaroo pocket. The hoodie showcases a ROKIT logo across the chest with color blocking sleeves. The utility vest ($120 USD) is a polyester material featuring multiple zipper closures, 3M accents and multiple pockets. The vest features different sayings including “product of true stories” and “there’s no stopping us now.” As well as ROKIT and Converse branding.
