Feature'd SINGLE Of The Week: The Black Eyed Peas "Yesterday"

Kevin Sanchez

This week we give our usual 'Feature'd Album' a small twist to celebrate our loyal customer, Taboo, and The Black Eyed Peas' new single 'Yesterday'. After nearly a five-year hiatus, the Black Eyed Peas are back with a track that mixes modern-day electronic and classic boom bap. Yesterday features a plethora of samples from iconic old-school records with Will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo delivering lines about the MCs that inspired them. N.W.A.'s "Straight Outta Compton," Wu-Tang Clan's "Killa Bees," Beastie Boys' "Paul Revere" and Onyx's "Slam" (to name a few) make sample appearances in the new single with The Black Eyed Peas' funky rhymes giving the classics a modern-day feel.
