Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Retro Low SP
Release November 12th
Off-White’s origin in 2013 until now has been nothing short of impactful. The high-end streetwear label has collaborated with iconic brands such as Undercover, Heron Preston, Jimmy Choo, and most notably—Nike. The iconic Off-White x Nike collaboration was first introduced in 2017, establishing a new forefront of footwear. The unique alignment of both brands’ aesthetics created sought-after contemporary silhouettes. With anticipation leading up to the unique materials, stitching, and Off-White deconstruction placed on iconic Nike silhouettes, the collaboration's deliveries are considered one of the most sought after sneakers around. Forming old and new ideas together into an instantly-recognizable collection, the Off-White x Nike collaboration continues on.
Introduced as the OG ‘The Ten’ pack, Off-White’s unique stitched and deconstructed aesthetic was placed on signature and classic Nike silhouettes. Considered to be one of the most significant sneaker events of the year, ‘The Ten’ pack was introduced in two separate packs, with the first pack titled ‘REVEALING.’ This pack consisted of an Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 1, Air Max 90, Air Presto, Air VaporMax, and Blazer Mid. The second pack titled ‘GHOSTING’ featured an Off-White x Nike Air Max 97, React Hyperdunk, Air Force 1, Zoom Vaporfly, and Converse Chuck Taylor All Star. Considered the flagship of the iconic collaboration, the Air Jordan 1 design was inspired by Virgil Abloh’s love of Michael Jordan and the overall ‘90s aesthetic. The design featured an orange hit at the heel while imitating a price sticker featuring’ AIR’ typography on the midsole. Side panel Swooshes are pinned rather than stitched. From 2017 to today, the Off-White x Nike collaborations are considered one of the most sought-after footwear collaborations in the world of sneakers.
Virgil Abloh explores Off-White aesthetics intertwined with the Jordan brand in the latest colorways of the Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Retro Low. When the Air Jordan 2 debuted in 1986, the silhouette quickly earned an iconic placement in Air Jordan history. The new design features two different colorways, including White/Varsity Red and Black/Varsity Royal, and was reverse-engineered from an original Air Jordan 2, which resulted in unique results: the left and right pair of each silhouette have a different cracked midsole for additional authenticity. With the classic Air Jordan 2 silhouette, the new rendition features an Off-White zip-tie, with each pair featuring MJ’s signature printed at the exterior. A traditional leather upper with mesh overlays is placed, while the rubber heel cap and outsole enhance the design’s integrity.
