Kanghyuk

Kanghyuk is a Korea-based brand founded in 2017 by Kanghyuk Choi and Sanglak Shon. The brand initially started as Choi’s Master’s Program graduation project at the Royal College of Art, which then launched into their namesake label upon graduation. Although only launched for a few years, Kanghyuk has already been turning heads in the streetwear and fashion industry.

Kanghyuk is inspired by early twentieth-century, ready-to-wear silhouettes and pushes the boundaries by deconstructing everyday objects into high-fashion apparel.  The utilitarian menswear brand can be found using different unorthodox materials, including vehicle airbags and transforms them into everyday modern garments. They are energized by the repetition and original pattern that airbags bring, giving them a unique aesthetic.

Kanghyuk gained notoriety when A$AP Rocky wore the apparel in his 2019 music video, Tony Tone. Since then, Kanghyuk can be found on a handful of celebrities and hip hop artists.
