Martine Rose
Martine Rose
Martine Rose is a London-based designer who started her eponymous menswear line in 2007. The concept of Martine Rose was to “make the ordinary extraordinary” through blurring the lines between volume, proportion and fabrication. Since its inception, Martine Rose has been a full-fledged stand-alone ready-to-wear label. In 2017, Martine Rose received the ANDAM prize for emerging designers.
Drawing inspiration from 90s rave and hip hop culture, Martine Rose delivers high-quality apparel with exaggerated fits. Martine Rose uses an unorthodox approach to design garments including t-shirts, button-ups and even denim. With “inside out” woven labels, her attention to detail can’t be missed.
Aside from her namesake label, Rose began working under Demna Gvasalia of Balenciaga in 2015. With her well-established name, Martine Rose locked in a collaboration with Nike in 2019 in which she reworked the ultimate “dad shoe,” the Air Monarch IV.
