The Jordan Brand and Union LA are back again for their second collaboration. The footwear giant and streetwear brand first collaborated back in 2018 with the Air Jordan 1 silhouette in ‘Black Toe’ and ‘Storm Blue.’ These models fused classic Air Jordan 1 colorways, celebrating DIY culture and ‘80s basketball culture. One of the most sought-after collaborations, they are back again partnering on their second collaboration with the Air Jordan x Union 4 ‘Off Noir’ release. The highly anticipated collaboration was first released in September of this year, exclusively to Nike and Union LA. The silhouette is now seeing a wider release day, scheduled to release Friday, October 16th. 

Owner of Union LA, Chris Gibbs is influenced by basketball culture and believes that basketball directly impacts streetwear. For the brand’s latest collaboration, Union x Jordan are inspired by basketball heritage and culture. The collection encompasses the nostalgic ‘80s and ‘90s basketball heritage with its style, advertising and more. 

The Air Jordan 4 silhouette features a mix of materials and colors. The upper is constructed with mesh, suede and nylon in a blend of black, white and blue colors. Other details include hits of infrared on the Nike Air heel and the top of the wings. Gibbs states via Nike, "The vision here was to mix suede and mesh, so we worked really hard to find the right materials. For the suede, we took hints from the really thick but plush … for the mesh, we wanted an old school mesh like the OG sneakers of the '80s." The result is an eclectic version of the iconic Air Jordan 4 silhouette.
