New Arrivals

Unisex clothing brand Gallery Dept. was founded and is now based in Los Angeles, California. Founded by artist and designer Josue Thomas, the brand strives to repurpose and re-imagine apparel into something new. Josue Thomas embodies creativity, streetwear culture, and a passion for retro fashion within each offering from Gallery Dept. Josue never studied fashion or garment making and was the son of immigrants that watched his parents’ raw artistic skills. Gallery Dept. was founded in 2017 and began when Josue Thomas sold a hand-sewn denim poncho off his back to Johnny Depp’s stylist. The label fuses passions for vintage clothing and art into one cohesive vision. By believing in creating a unique experience and doing things a little differently, Gallery Dept.’s philosophy centers around collaboration, creation, and rebellion.

Gallery Dept. is a hybrid clothing label that overlaps between being a streetwear label, neighborhood tailor, and vintage store. Each designed and hand-painted by Josue Thomas on upcycled or dead-stock garments, the brand interprets and creates clothing as if it was an end of itself. As a refreshing staple of hip-hop culture, each collection incorporates a blend of everyday apparel such as vintage shirts, hoodies, bomber jackets, long-sleeve tees, sweatpants, and accessories like socks and hats.

One item included in Gallery Dept.’s Core 0.2 collection is the Gallery Dept. GD Trucker Cap. By representing the modern aesthetics of the Gallery Dept. brand, this polyester silhouette includes netted material and a signature structured front. An adjustable backstrap is placed at the rear, while the design’s primary spotlight is the screen-printed branding that comprises the face. This piece of headwear elevates any collection—additionally, the Gallery Dept. De La Galerie L/S Pocket Tee upgrades the traditional tee and makes a statement within any outfit type. Featuring a cotton silhouette, the design includes a crew neckline and faded screen-printed branding comprising the chest pocket. Subtle ribbed detailing at the cuffs completes the overall aesthetic.

“Collaborate, Create, and Rebel”

Along with headwear and tees, a selection of denim is also spotlighted with Gallery Dept.’s latest arrivals. The Gallery Dept. La Flare elevates the traditional denim silhouette. The design includes a flared construction with subtle denim paneling geared towards the bottom portion of each leg. Distressed detailing is also placed throughout, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to repurposing garments into something new. The standard five-pocket design offers functionality, while the zip-fly and reinforced belt loops accentuate that component. Outerwear offerings are also featured within this latest delivery, such as the Gallery Dept. Montecito Jacket. The jacket features screen-printed branding at the chest and rear for a relaxed fit. Both lightweight and durable, the hidden interior pockets and hand pockets provide a functional experience.
