Stone Island is back with another delivery for their Fall/Winter 2020 collection. Created by Massimo Osti, the Italian-based brand was founded in 1982 and has become a staple in the fashion industry. Recognized by its iconic compass patch, the label is known for its use of innovative fabrics and technology putting an emphasis on functional wear for long-lasting pieces. Founded on the idea of research and experimentation, all Stone Island pieces are crafted in-house using its own complex dying and textile processes. 

The collection includes a variety of reworking staple silhouettes from nylon jackets, fleece cotton sweaters, t-shirts and hoodies. The Fleece collection includes a mix of pieces with their dust colour treatment. The dust colour treatment provides a veil of coloured pigments on the surface of the piece, adding a three-dimensional effect. 

Another treatment seen in the FW20 drop is the poly-clour frame-tc, which is a hooded jacket made from shiny nylon warp yarns and colored polyester weft yarns. The different tensions create a three-dimensional effect with a metallic appearance from the garment dye process. Other items in the collection include Stone Island’s crewneck fleece that is made from a cotton jersey and gauzed inside. All pieces are garment-dyed in-house and feature the signature patch on the sidearm. 

Must-have pieces in the collection include Stone Island’s Poly-Colour Frame Con Primaloft-TC Jacket in Musk, Stone Island’s Cotton Hooded Sweatshirt in Aqua and Stone Island’s Cotton Fleece Cargo Pants in steel grey.
