Vans Vault brings us another collection with designer icon Taka Hayashi whom has become a mainstay for Vans ($125-150). Taka continues to exemplify the uniqueness and detailed craftsmanship that has become known as a staple of the designer's aesthetic. Two models that stand out are the re-worked versions of the classic "checkerboard" SK8-Hi ($150) and Slip-on ($125). Rather than the customary printed checkerboard on the upper, the new iterations feature a weave of black and white fabric to capture the effect. The rest of the shoe is also given the premium treatment, with a leather lining and suede over canvas as the choice for the upper.
